Jeanne L. Carr Hamilton, 98, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2026, at UPMC Carlisle.  She was born on April 14, 1927, in Boiling Springs and was a daughter of the late Oren F. Carr  and Helen (Ensminger) Carr Wright.

Jeanne graduated from Boiling Springs High School with the class of 1945.  She retired in 1990 from Cumberland County Domestic Relations and also worked as a clerk for the Cumberland County Voter Registration Office.  She was a member of the Otterbein United Methodist Church where she was a Loyal Bible Class member and formerly attended The Brethren Church in Boiling Springs. Jeanne was part of United Methodist Women and helped with funeral luncheons with her best friend Arlene Group for many years.

She is survived by two sons, Ronald (Linda) Hamilton of Boiling Springs and Randal (Mimi) Hamilton of Charleston, SC., two daughters, Wendy (Ed) Wickard of Carlisle, Jackie (Shala Sebers) Hamilton of Gulf Breeze, FL., six grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one grandson Scott Hamilton, one sister Joan Meredith and a half-brother Tom Wright.

A visitation will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 8, 2026, followed by a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. in the Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Road, Carlisle, PA 17015, with Pastor Steve Salisbury officiating. A luncheon will immediately follow the service at the church.  The burial will be private at Bakers Cemetery, Mechanicsburg at a later date.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Jeanne's name may be made to the church.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
