Obituary

Jay N. Rudy, 69, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at his home with family by his side.  He was born on October 26, 1952, in Chambersburg and was a son of the late Paul Rudy, Sr. and Catherine (Harmony) Rudy.

Jay was a US Army veteran and served during the Vietnam War.  He attended Northern York High School and earned his G.E.D. while serving in the Army.  Jay worked in the construction industry and was a skilled carpenter and mason for many years.

He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Eleanor M. (Sandoval) Rudy, four daughters, Tiffany Sandoval of York, Jill Mason of Summerville, SC, Julie Damsky of York Haven and Kati Rudy of Carlisle, three granddaughters, Alexis Williams of Carlisle, Kylie Mason of Summerville, SC and Journey Daniels of Carlisle, five grandsons, Tyler Sandoval of Carlisle, Xavier Zeiders of Carlisle, Logan Damsky of York Haven, Dominic Daniels of Carlisle and Cameron Daniels of Carlisle, his siblings, Paul Rudy, Jr., Ronald Rudy, Marie Garvey, Betty Magaro and Shirley Stahler.  He was preceded in death by three brothers, Leon Rudy, Denis Rudy, and Rex Rudy and one sister Kathleen "KaKi" Yasalonis.

A viewing will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, January 21, 2022, followed by funeral services at 11:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Philip Thornton officiating.  Burial with military honors will be held at 1:30 p.m. at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville.
