Jason Wesley Smith II, 27, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at home. He was born on May 27, 1990 in Carlisle and is a son of Jason W. and Angela (Hirsch) Smith of Carlisle.
Jason graduated from Carlisle High School with the Class of 2009 and earned his Bachelor's degree in Biotechnology from Harrisburg University of Science and Technology. His family belongs to St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. Jason was a talented "tech whisperer." Jason's favorite things in this world were making music, being outdoors, and most importantly, spending time with his family and friends. Jason expressed his passion for music by playing bass in dozens of bands, going to concerts, and jamming with loved ones. Jason wholeheartedly cared about everyone- whether stranger or family- and never left a person unloved.
In addition to his mother and father, he is survived by six siblings; Nathan, Rachael, Jessica, Mary, Michael, and John Smith, all of Carlisle, paternal grandmother, D. Morgan (husband, James) Pickands of Doylestown, maternal grandmother, Nancy Hirsch of Yellow Springs, OH, paternal great-grandmother, Louise Morgan of Doylestown and many extended family members and friends.
A Memorial Mass will begin at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, January 27, 2018 in the St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle, with The Very Rev. William C. Forrey officiating followed by a time of fellowship in the church activity center. Burial will be private. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home assisted the family with the arrangements.
