Janet Mae (Stambaugh) Alexander, 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, September 7, 2023, at UPMC Carlisle.  She was born on September 8, 1942, in Perry County and was the daughter of the late Alvin Stambaugh and Margaret Elsa (Kessler) Stambaugh and the widow of Ray E. Alexander, who passed away on Sunday, January 20, 2019.

Janet graduated from high school in Perry County.  She was a devoted homemaker and farmer's wife.  Janet enjoyed taking care of her family.

She is survived by one son Kevin E. "Goober" (and his wife, Pamela) Alexander of Newville, one brother Barry Stambaugh of Carlisle, one granddaughter Katlyn Alexander and several nieces and nephews.  Janet was predeceased by two brothers, Gene Stambaugh and Richard Stambaugh.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, in the Westminster Memorial Gardens, 1159 Newville Rd., Carlisle, PA 17013.  Pastor Randy Zook will be the officiant.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is in charge of the arrangements.
