Jane F. Sponenberg, 80, of Carlisle, passed away on Saturday, November 29, 2014, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on December 25, 1933, in Berwick, a daughter of the late Clayton E. and Effie A. (Brosious) Harter, and was the widow of John Sponenberg, who died Aug. 19, 1992.

Jane was a longtime member of the Carlisle Alliance Church.

She is survived by four sisters; Clarine Trapane of Harrisburg, Sara Cobb of Kenmore, NY, Peggy Harter of Grantville and Sandra Massie also of Grantville and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 6, 2014, in the Carlisle Alliance Church, 237 E. North Str., Carlisle, with Pastor Tim Keller officiating. A time of visitation and fellowship will follow the service. Interment will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to her church. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements.
