James R. Gregg Jr., 73, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, February 24, 2011, at M. S. Hershey Medical Center. He was born on Wednesday, October 13, 1937, in Kingston, NY and was the son of the late James R. and Gladys (Swinler) Gregg.

James retired after20 years from Carlisle Regional Medical Center as a lab technician and14 years with Gettysburg Hospital. He was a United States Navy Veteran. He attended the Brethren In Christ Church, Carlisle.

James is survived by his loving wife of51 years, Yvonne A. (Goshorn) Gregg, his daughter, Cathie E. (and husband, David A.) Richardson of Carlisle, four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two sons; Michael and Terry Gregg.

Services and burial will be held at a later date in Spring Hill Cemetery, Shippensburg. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to the Humane Society of Harrisburg Area, Inc., 7790 Grayson Rd., Harrisburg, PA 17111.
