Obituary

James Doyle, 69, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, January 17, 2022, at UPMC West Shore.  He was born on August 11, 1952, in St. Louis, Missouri and was a son of the late Charles Herd and Lorraine (Lyons) Herd.

Jim graduated from Carlisle High School in 1972, and shortly thereafter joined the US Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1976.  He was a veteran of the Vietnam Era.  Jim retired from the Mechanicsburg Naval Supply Depot and formerly worked at the New Cumberland Army Depot for many years.  Jim also worked and was active with the Salvation Army in Carlisle.  He was a member of the Vietnam Veterans Club.

He is survived by his wife Revenda M. (Barclay) Doyle, six children, Teyona Cannaday, Joseph Doyle, Tara Woodward, Elizabeth Etter, Ben Durborow and Tony Bowne, four brothers, Tom Doyle, Bill Doyle, Charles Herd and John Doyle, two sisters, Lori Dana and Dianne Egan and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and extended family.  Jim was preceded in death by one brother Joseph Doyle and one sister Judy Doyle

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, January 24, 2022, followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Captain Oziel Urbaez as the officiant.  Burial with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial donations in Jim's name may be made to the Salvation Army Carlisle, 20 E.
