James J. Vicario Cranga, 89, of Jersey City, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2018. He was born on August 24, 1928 in Jersey City, NJ and was a son of the late James and Theresa (Vicario) Cranga.

Jim was a high school graduate and served in the US Army from 1950 To 1952. He retired as Director of the Jersey City Redevelopment Corporation. He was of Roman Catholic faith.

He is survived by niece, Andrea Switzer and her family of Gettysburg, nephew, Michael Cranga and his family of Carlisle, a sister-in-law, Kathryn Lombardo and her husband of Carlisle and many cousins.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 31, 2018 in St. Patrick Catholic Church, 85 Marsh Dr., Carlisle with Rev. Joshua Cavender officiating. Burial will be in St. Patrick Catholic Cemetery, Carlisle with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard. A viewing will be on Wednesday, May 30, 2018 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. www.Since1853.com.
