James E. Biden, 97, of Carlisle, died on Friday, March 24, 2023, at Chapel Pointe, Carlisle. He was born on March 24, 1926, in Baltimore, MD and was a son of the late Eugene and Anna (Reed) Biden and the widow of Alice M. (Hausknecht) Biden who died April 10, 2009.
Jim served as a Corporal in the US Army during WWII. He was at the Battle of the Bulge. He retired from Navistar (International Harvester), where he was a regional service manager for nearly 35 years. Jim was a member of Jehovah's Witness Carlisle Congregation.
He is survived by one son Douglas Biden of Mechanicsburg, one daughter-in-law Janet Biden of East Berlin, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandsons and 8 nieces and nephews. Jim was preceded in death by one son James E. Biden, Jr., one brother Joseph Biden and two sisters, Marie Jendresak and Elizabeth Bartholow.
A graveside service will be in Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery on Monday, April 17, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to Jehovah's Witness Carlisle Congregation, 1 Mooredale Rd, Carlisle, PA 17015. Visit www.EwingBrothers.com to send condolences.
