Obituary

Jacqueline M. Rasmussen, 91, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, October 10, 2025, at Cumberland Crossings Retirement Community, Carlisle. She was born on November 16, 1933, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late George E. Darhower, Sr. and Sarah I. (Bitner) Darhower.  Jacque was married for 64 years to Henry V. Rasmussen who died December 24, 2016.

She was a 1951 graduate of Carlisle High School and retired after many years of service with Reeves-Hoffman Co. in Carlisle.  She was a quality control inspector.  Jacque loved reading, crossword puzzles and hosting game days in her home.

She is survived by one daughter Teresa "Terre" R. Sarach and partner Brad Free of Mt. Holly Springs, three grandchildren, Robert and Jacqueline Sarach and James R. Rasmussen, one great-grandson Everett Sarach, one brother Bard E. Darhower and one sister Marcia R. Maul and many nieces and nephews.  She was preceded in death by one son Phillip L. Rasmussen, four brothers, George E. Darhower, Jr., Jim L. Darhower, John C. Darhower and Robert W. Darhower and three sisters, Lois Shreve, Shirley A. Darhower and Lana K. Stevens.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, October 20, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle.  Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Please visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.
