Jacqueline V. Handshew, 93, passed away on Sunday, March 16, 2025, at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle.  She was born on July 30, 1931, in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Charles and Edna (Steigleman) Callio and was the widow of Harold Richard Handshew who passed away March 15, 1997.

Jackie worked at C. H. Masland & Son, Carlisle Tire & Rubber Co. and retired from Capital Products after many years of service.  She enjoyed going to public auctions and yard sales.  Jackie was an excellent baker and was well known for her pumpkin pies and sand tarts.  She enjoyed giving her baked goods to family and friends for their enjoyment.

She is survived by one daughter Glenda (Garry) Stough of Mt. Holly Springs, two sons, Jamy (Pamela) Handshew of Newville and Richard Handshew of Carlisle, four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.  She was preceded in death by one brother William Callio and one sister Nanalee Picou.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 25, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Steve Motter officiating.  The burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  The family would like to express a sincere thank you to all the nurses and staff at Chapel Pointe for their loving care of our mother.   In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Chapel Pointe Benevolent Fund, 770 S.
