Jack Lauder Klock, 78, of Carlisle, died on Saturday, July 13, 2019 at his home. He was born on August 26, 1940 in Emporium and was a son of the late Gordon E. and Jeanetta M. (Lauder) Klock.
Jack served in the US Army from 1957 to 1960. He retired after 30 years of service with the State of PA where he served as a health educator with the Department of Health. Jack earned a Bachelors' degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa and a Masters' in Education from Penn State University. He enjoyed researching different cultures, archeology especially the Egyptian culture and writing papers on political affairs and archeology. Jack also enjoyed target shooting and reloading ammunition.
He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Elaine L. (Rockwell) Klock, one daughter, Erin L. Klock of Carlisle, two brothers; Jay G. Klock of Burlington, IA and Randall J. Klock of Pleasant Gap, one sister, Leah Dixon of Centre Hall, several nieces, nephews and the family's beloved Black Labrador Retriever, Angus Lauder Klock. Jack was preceded in death by one sister, Margaret Klock.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 18, 2019 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. A graveside service will be held on Saturday, July 20, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. in the Reformed and Lutheran Cemetery in Centre Hall. Memorial contributions may be made to the Wounded Warrior Project or to the American Cancer Society. www.Since1853.com.
