Jack A. "Mouse" Myers, 83, of Carlisle, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 30, 2019 at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. He was born on April 16, 1936 in Carlisle and was a son of the late Clair and Helen (Dunkle) Myers.
Jack graduated from Carlisle High School and served more than 10 years with the Gobin Guards. Jack retired from the former Kinney Shoe Corp. in Carlisle after 40 years of service. He served 36 years with the Carlisle Special Fire Police and was a 58 years member of the Union Fire Co. No. 1, Carlisle. Jack was a bass guitarist for several local bands including; Reminisce", "Four Wheel Drive" and "The Larks". He was a former member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Betty A. (Darhower) Myers, six children; Susan Palumbo, JoAnn (husband, Roger) Miller, Larry (wife, Nicki) Myers, Gary Barrick, Jr., Tracy Barrick and Bradley Barrick, 15 grand and 13 great-grandchildren, brother, Gary (wife, Bobby) Myers, nephew, Justin Myers and a great-nephew.
Funeral services will begin at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday, May 7, 2019 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Larry Flood officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle. A viewing be held on Monday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
