Hilda retired after 42 years of service with the former Bedford Shoe Co., Carlisle. She was a member of Barnitz United Methodist Church, Carlisle.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews and one sister-in-law, Sophia Shughart of Carlisle. Hilda was preceded in death by one brother, Clarence Shughart, Jr. and three sisters; Madelena Mellott, Mary Haycock and Edna Shenk.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 10, 2011 at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Rick Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. Viewing will be on Wednesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
