Helen M. Trayer, 96, of Carlisle, died on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in ManorCare Health Services, Carlisle. She was born on June 26, 1920 in Reading, and was a daughter of the late Beulah (Worthington) Mellinger and the widow of Paul F. Trayer, Sr., who died March 2, 1988.

Helen was a homemaker and a former member of several local ladies auxiliaries.

She is survived by one daughter, Betty A. Gsell and her companion of 18 years, Michael E. Darhower of Carlisle, one son, Paul F. Trayer, Jr. of Carlisle, six grandchildren and several great-grandchildren. Helen was predeceased by one daughter, Joan Bouder, two grandchildren; Rickey Bouder and Bryan "Cow" Bouder, three brothers and four sisters.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 27, 2016 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Glenn H.
