Helen Emily Thomas, 99, of Carlisle, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Chapel Pointe at Carlisle. She was born on November 4, 1919 in Shermansdale, a daughter of the late Charles and Margaret (Snyder) Thomas. She has been a resident at Chapel Pointe since June 2011.

Helen retired in 1989 after employment in a number of local business including Carlisle Shoe Factory, the Piezo Crystal Plant, C.H. Masland and Sons, Carlisle Ribbon Mill, Mount Holly Springs Dress Factory and the Claremont Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.  In 1950, Helen joined the Second Presbyterian Church, Carlisle and was an active member for over 60 years. In recent years declining health prevented her regular attendance.  She was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth, a brother, Paul Dale Thomas and a son, Eugene Ludt.

She is survived by two nephews, Dale and Ed Thomas and several cousins.

A graveside service will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 in the Ashland Cemetery, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to Second Presbyterian Church or One West Penn Street, Carlisle, PA.  A memorial service is being planned and will be held at a later date.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
