Obituary

Helen I. Salisbury, age 97, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2013, at Claremont Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, Carlisle. She was born on Friday, December 17, 1915, in Franklin County, a daughter of the late Benjamin H. and Clara Belle (Evans) Mackey and was the widow of Edgar M. Salisbury, Sr., who died in April 26, 1981.

Helen retired from the former Blough and Wagner Dress Factory and had also worked at the former C. H. Masland & Sons, both of Carlisle. Helen was a seamstress for many years. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle. Helen enjoyed cooking, quilting, the outdoors and fishing.

She is survived by one sister, Ruth Thumma of Carlisle and many nieces and nephews. Helen was predeceased by brothers; Walter, Russell, Charles, Raymond, Arthur, Thomas and Frank Mackey and sisters; Viola Kramer and Edna Heller.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, March 22, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Rev. Timothy Sadler officiating. Burial will be in Westminster Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be on Friday from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 201 W. Louther St., Carlisle, PA 17013.
