Harvey E.
Guise
Feb 7, 1951 — Jun 20, 2026
With heavy hearts we announce the passing of our beloved father, husband, and grandfather, Harvey Ellsworth Guise. A man whose life was defined bylove, kindness, generosity, and an extraordinary work ethic. He was the kind of person who never stopped giving of himself. He worked tirelessly throughout his life, always putting his family first and showing those around him the meaning of dedication, perseverance, and responsibility.
For more than eight years, he faced cancer with incredible courage, strength, and determination. He fought a long difficult battle with the same quiet resilience that he brought to every challenge in his life. Though cancer took his body, it never took his spirit.
Above all, he was a devoted father and a proud grandfather to six grandchildren, who brought him immeasurable joy. The lessons he taught them-through his kindness, his generosity, his hard work, and the way he lived his life-will remain with them forever.
Harvey Ellsworth Guise 75, of Mt. Holly Springs passed away Saturday June 20, 2026 at home with his family by his side, after being on hospice for 2 weeks. He was born on February 7, 1951 at home on the farm in Gardners, PA to Roy and Grace (Dennis) Guise. He was the husband of Deborah Taylor Guise for the last 48 years. He graduated from Carlisle High School with the class of 1969. After which he earned his associates degree in Mathematics at Harrisburg Area Community College. He retired after 45 years as a meat manager from Giant foods. He was a member of the Goodyear Luthern Church, and Bethel Assembly of God.
He was always taking care of his family through the love of his own hobbies, like gardening, baking and hiking. He fed the birds daily and knew every one of them. Knew how to play a mean hand of poker and never missed football in his retirement years like he did when he worked.
He leaves behind a wife Deborah T. Guise, two sons, Jesse A. Guise and Levi A. Guise, and a daughter Alicia A. Lopez, and six grandchildren, Caroline Macaluso and Delainey Guise, Willow Guise and Liam Guise, and Chloe Lopez and Alivia Tilden, Alivia whom he helped raise, and many nieces and nephews, two sisters and one brother. His family deeply loved him and will miss his wisdom, his warmth, his helping hands, and his steady presence every day in our lives. We treasure the last eight years of his cancer fight that we got to spend with him.
His legacy is not measured by what he owned, but by the lives he touched, the love he gave, and the example he gave, always a kind, patient man.
A truly good man has left this world, but the goodness he placed in it will continue to live on through all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. His hands were rarely still, his heart was always open, and his love for his family was unwavering. May he rest in peace.
