Obituary

Harry L. "Linc" Wyrick, Sr., 96, of Walnut Bottom, passed to eternal life on Monday, December 30, 2013, at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. He was born on Dec. 5, 1917, in Penbrook, a son of the late Harry Clinton Wyrick and Carrie Jane (Holtry) Wyrick. Linc was married for 31 years to the late Mildred E. "Mid" (Flory) Wyrick, who died Dec. 31, 2005.

Linc retired after 35 years of service with the PA Railroad in Enola. He also helped many people with his carpentry skills. He was a life member of the Walnut Bottom Rod & Gun Club. Linc enjoyed hunting, riding his 4-wheeler, making his raspberry jelly and cutting firewood. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

He is survived by two sons; Harry L. (Chris) Wyrick, Jr. of Newville, Jerry E. (Delores) Wyrick of Walnut Bottom, two daughters; Janet (Richard) Kutz and Sandra Morrison, both of Carlisle, four step-sons; Ronald (Cindy) Jumper of Carlisle, William (Wanda) Jumper of Walnut Bottom, Robert Jumper of Carlisle and Donald (Kathy) Jumper of Gardners, five step-daughters; Mary (John) Grimes of Newville, Nancy (Gene) Hockenberry of Chambersburg, Delores (Jerry) Wyrick of Walnut Bottom, Barbara Ward of Shippensburg and Patsy Jumper of Walnut Bottom, one brother, Richard Wyrick of Shippensburg, four sisters; Betty Wyrick of Shippensburg, Virginia Kelso of Newville, Mary Stouffer of Hagerstown, MD and Thelma Lentvorskey of Boiling Springs, 8 grandsons, 15 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandsons, 12 step-grandchildren and several step-great-grandchildren. Linc was predeceased by one step-son, Richard Jumper, four brothers; Blaine, Wilbur, John and Woodrow Wyrick and three sisters; Hazel Wadel, Jeanette Beecher and Frances Goodhart.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 3, 2014, at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, with Pastor Jack Wyrick officiating. Burial will follow at Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle. A viewing will be on Friday from 12:00 noon until time of services. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 1019 Mumma Rd., Wormleysburg, PA 17043.
