Harry Clay Stamy, III, 81, of Carlisle, passed away on Thursday, January 31, 2019 at Paramount Senior Living in Fayetteville.  He was born on March 8, 1937 in Carlisle, the son of the late Harry C. Stamy, Jr. and Grace C. (Hammond) Stamy. He was the widow of the late Linda L. (Throne) Stamy, who passed away on December 24, 2015.

Clay worked and retired from Amp, Inc., in Carlisle. He also worked part time as a bus driver for the Carlisle School District.  When he wasn't working, he enjoyed driving his 1972 Corvette and won several awards at the car shows. In his earlier years, he owned a late model car that was raced at Silver Springs Race Track.  He was a life-long member at Huntsdale Church of the Brethren, Carlisle.

He is survived by his son, Keith A. Stamy of Fayetteville; daughter, Lorrie Ann Jones of Carlisle; brother and sister-in-law Donald Lee and Trudy Stamy, of Carlisle;  two grandchildren Megan Jones and Tiffany Major, (wife of D'Angelo Major) and four great-grandchildren; Nevaeh Showers, Kingston, Kamden and Tallulah Major.

A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. in the Westminster Cemetery, Carlisle, with Pastor Darlene Stouffer officiating.  Memorial contributions may be made to Huntsdale Church of the Brethren.
