Gregory P. Prather, 69, of Newville and formerly of Felton, passed away on Friday, August 2, 2024, at UPMC Carlisle.  He was born on October 6, 1954, in Baltimore, MD and was a son of the late Edwin R. Prather and Loise (Kahler) Prather.

Greg worked as a machinist and retired from the former Marquip Ward in Cockeysville, Md after 30 years of service.  Greg loved the outdoors, camping and spending time with his sons.  He also enjoyed following the weather and working on vehicles.  He will be deeply missed by his family.

He is survived by his devoted wife of 51 years Deborah J. (Hayes) Prather, three sons, Jesse V. (wife Kristen) Prather of Glenville, Casey A. Prather of New Freedom and Luke A. Prather of Felton, one brother Charles P. Prather of Nevada, two sisters, Grace Snyder and Linda Williamson both of Bel Air, MD, six grandchildren, one step grandchild and several nieces and nephews.  He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Anthony Prather.

A viewing will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 9, 2024, followed by prayers at 7:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
