Glenn "Toby" Sweigard, age 78, passed peacefully Sunday afternoon at his home outside of Liverpool, Perry County. He is survived by his wife and companion of more than thirty years, Linda A. Litz, a sister, Betty McCahill and her husband, Roger of Dalmatia, three children; Paula Kissinger and her husband, Bob of Harrisburg, Karen Kay Buckley and her husband, Joe of Carlisle, and Rahn Sweigard and his wife Tina of Millersburg. He is also survived by three grandchildren of whom he was so very proud, each currently attending college: Marissa Kissinger (Arcadia University), Laurel Kissinger (Penn State University) and Seth Sweigard (Penn State University).

Glenn was a graduate of Millersburg High School and after graduation honorably served in the United States Army. After his discharge he moved to Halifax, Dauphin County and worked for more than 30 years for the Quaker Oats Company at its Shiremanstown plant. He was active with the Halifax Volunteer Fire Company, the Lions Club and many other community based organizations.

Glenn was a sportsman, who enjoyed fishing the Susquehanna and loved the outdoors. An active member of Ducks Unlimited, many friends would join him for hunting season at his camp, "the Duck Shed" located just south of Halifax on his beloved Susquehanna River. Glenn traveled throughout the United States, Canada and Alaska and the numerous trophies and mounts adorning his home are a tribute to his skills as a hunter. But most of all he loved to travel with his beloved wife, Linda, who devoted her life to his care and comfort.

Ewing Brothers Funeral Home of Carlisle is handling the funeral arrangements. Glenn shall be buried during a private family service. There will be no public service at Glenn's request and he requested that memorial contributions be made to the Ned Smith Center, Millersburg, PA or to the Millersburg Ferry Boat Association.
