Gilbert A. Goodyear, 79, of Carlisle, passed away on Tuesday, August 9, 2022.  He was born on February 3, 1943, in Carlisle and was the son of the late Gilbert M. Goodyear and Anna Mae (Lyter) Batman.

Gilbert graduated from Carlisle High School in 1962.  He retired in 2003 from PA Department of Transportation after many years of service as a heavy equipment operator.  Gilbert enjoyed fishing, playing poker and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his wife of 45 years Lavonne E. (Anderson) Goodyear, four children, Joshua M. (Merissa) Goodyear of Carlisle, Jennifer M. (Jessica) Goodyear-Zambon of Camp Hill, Scott P. Goodyear of Carlisle, and Deborah L. Nickey of Shippensburg.
