Gertrude M. McCalister, 92, of Carlisle, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2020 at UPMC Pinnacle Carlisle.  She was born on June 13, 1928 in New Kingstown and was a daughter of the late Phillip S. and Eliza E. (Brownawell) McClintock.  She was married to the late John W. McCalister who died March 16, 1999.

Gertrude retired from Capital Products Inc. of Mechanicsburg after 20 years of service.  She also worked at the Carlisle Y.M.C.A. for many years in the Babysitting Room and participated in the Senior Aquatics Club.  She attended The Family Worship Center, Mechanicsburg.  She enjoyed her family, reading and doing puzzles.

She is survived by two sons, Paul E. (Virginia) McCalister of Newville and David E. (Tammy) McCalister of Carlisle, three daughters, Donna M. (Paul) Nye of Mechanicsburg, Patricia A. Luce of Carlisle and Dorothy M. (Kevin) Wetzel of Carlisle, two sisters, Helen Henry of Newville and Pauline Gilbert of Carlisle, 11 grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, 12 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.  Gertrude was preceded in death by one daughter Mary Jane McCalister, one grandson Tyler McCalister, one brother Paul McClintock and his wife Mildred McClintock, four sisters, Dorothy Hill, Margaret Wilson, Pearl Tobias and Ethel Eberly.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 9, 2020 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Gary Zigner officiating.  Burial will be in Young's United Methodist Church Cemetery in Shermans Dale.  A viewing will he held on Thursday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.  www.Since1853.com.
