IN LOVING MEMORY OF
George E.
Jumper, Jr.
April 18, 1947 – January 30, 2026
George Eugene Jumper, Jr., 78, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2026, at Silver Spring Personal Care Home in Mechanicsburg.
George was born on April 18, 1947, in Carlisle, and was the son of the late George Jumper, Sr. and Freda (Griffie) Jumper.
George graduated from Big Spring High School with the Class of 1966 and attended Shippensburg University for a few semesters before joining the United States Army Reserves. For much of his life, George worked as a sales engineer with various companies in Central PA. He retired from Pulse Integration in 2021.
In 1966, George married his high school sweetheart and wife of nearly 58 years, Linda (Fickes) Jumper. Throughout their life together, George and Linda enjoyed traveling, spending time with their family, and enjoying the dream home they built on four acres of wooded land outside of Carlisle.
George began singing tenor with The Gabriel Quartet in 1969, the start of a gospel music ministry that would span more than 50 years. Whether through his solo ministry or with The Gabriels, George was passionate about ministering to others through music.
Throughout his life, George loved to experience nature through hunting, hiking, and camping. With an active mind and hands that yearned to create, George spent his weekends chopping wood, reading history books, working on his home, and pursuing hobbies such as woodworking, welding, and gardening. He enjoyed making furniture for his family and close friends. George adored spending time with his grandchildren: Patrick, Joseph, Leo, and Juniper.
George is survived by his two daughters, Christina (Robert) Hadley of Beaufort, SC and Courtney (Dillon) Lucente of Silver Spring, MD, four beloved grandchildren, and his sister, Kay Showaker. He was preceded in death by his wife, Linda Jumper, and one sister, Patricia Hartzell.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home in Carlisle. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until time of service. The burial will be private. www.EwingBrothers.com.
