George Leo Dolheimer, Jr, 86, of Carlisle and formerly of Hanover, PA, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2026, at Carlisle Hospital. He was born on May 2, 1939, at Hanover Hospital and was the only child of the late George L. Dolheimer, Sr. and Thelma A. (Berkheimer) Dolheimer. On October 5, 1968, he married his self-proclaimed "love of his life", Mary Regina (Klunk) Dolheimer. They were together for more than 53 years until Mary's death on Friday, April 15, 2022.
As a strong and devout Catholic, George graduated from Delone Catholic High School in 1957. While there, he made several lifelong friends who would gather frequently. He worked for Ramclif Supply Company for 33 years in sales and delivery. George was an avid racing fan, enjoying all forms of auto racing. He shared his love of racing with his son and grandson. He also enjoyed old westerns. George treasured spending time with his children and grandchildren. One of his favorite annual activities is the family reunion, where his family and friends gather.
After retirement, George worked part-time for Weis Markets and enjoyed serving customers. He was a long-time member of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Hanover, and served on the Healthcare Ministry with Mary. George and Mary moved to Chapel Pointe in Carlisle in February 2020. There they built a new community of friends, where staff and volunteers provided compassion care for the remainder of their lifetimes. They joined and continued their faith at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. George was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus in McSherrystown, PA.
He is survived by two sons, Joseph George (wife Denise) Dolheimer and Mark Leo (wife Angela) Dolheimer and six grandchildren, Thomas, Regina, EJ, Jamie, David, and Amanda Mae.
