Gayle Z. Sheriff, 86, of Carlisle, passed away on Monday, December 28, 2015 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on October 17, 1929 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Joseph B. and Zula (Clelan) Keck, and the widow of Mervin R. Sheriff, Jr., who died on November 18, 2012.

Gayle was a loving homemaker and had worked for several years with Piezo Crystal Co., Carlisle.

She is survived by one son, Kevin L. (wife, Barbara) Sheriff of Carlisle, two grandchildren; Kevin Sheriff, Jr. and Sarah Sheriff and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by two brothers; Lester and Earl Keck and one sister, Thelma Shughart.

A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2016 in the LeTort Cemetery, Drytown, Middlesex Twp. with Rev. Richard Noggle officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to The Salvation Army, 20 E. Pomfret St, Carlisle, PA 17013.
