Gary James Fenton, 73, of Newville, passed away on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at UPMC Carlisle.  He was born on August 10, 1948, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Earl D. Fenton and Esther R. (Sollenberger) Fenton.

Gary earned his GED from Big Spring High School.  He worked for several businesses including C. H. Masland carpet factory, PennDot, Shannon's Store and retired from Cumberland County Transport.  Gary was of Protestant faith.

He is survived by one brother Ronald D. Fenton of Newville, one sister Shirley L. Harrison of Newville, two nieces, Virginia L. McCalister and her husband Paul of Newville and Nancy L. Mentzer and her husband Gene of Newville, three great-nieces, one great-nephew and many great-great-nieces and nephews.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, December 9, 2021, followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Kevin Dunlap officiating.  A time of fellowship will follow the services at South Fairview First Church of God, 1212 Centerville Rd., Newville, PA 17241.  Burial will be private in Centerville Memorial Park, Newville.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the church.  www.EwingBrothers.com.
