Freda S. Huntzinger, 88, of Carlisle, passed away on Sunday, August 6, 2017 at her home. She was born on January 20, 1929 in Carlisle, and was a daughter of the late Guy and Nellie (Harglerode) Stringfellow.

Freda was a 1946 graduate of Carlisle High School. She retired from Presbyterian Homes in Dillsburg where she worked in the payroll department. Freda also worked for other companies in the area as a bookkeeper. She was a member St. Patrick Catholic Church in Carlisle. Freda will be deeply missed by her family and friends.

She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Philip J. Huntzinger, Jr., one daughter, Christine H. Houser of Boiling Springs, three sons; Philip J. (Kathryn) Huntzinger, III of Carlisle, Michael L. (Saundra) Huntzinger of DeSoto, TX and Stephen L. (Judy) Huntzinger of Mechanicsburg, 12 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by one sister, Leona Sherman and five brothers; Robert, Raymond, Marlin, Clair and Kenneth Stringfellow.

In honoring Freda's request, private graveside services will be held at St. Patrick's Catholic Church Cemetery, North Middleton Twp., with Deacon Kenneth Roth officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
