Francis G. "Uncle Franny" Sipe, 88, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at his home. He was born on January 22, 1928 in Boiling Springs, and was a son of the late Russell C. and Irene C. (Miller) Sipe. He was married to the late Emma Arlene (Hipple) Sipe, who died on Feb. 10, 2004.

Francis graduated from Carlisle High School with the class of 1947. He had worked for the former Arnold Motors and retired from the former W.L.S. Motors, both of Carlisle.

He is survived by one brother, Lester L. Sipe of Carlisle and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by one sister, Carolyn G. Jones.

A graveside will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, October 20, 2016 in the Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, 1921 Ritner Highway, Carlisle, with Rev. Walt Frankenberry officiating. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, is in charge of the arrangements.
