Francis C. Kozak(April 7, 1927 - February 21, 2015)of Carlisle died Saturday. He had 87 years. Francis orFrank, also nicknamed "Butch" was a veteran of WWII and the Korean War, having served six years of active duty. He was honorably discharged three times and earned the Korean Service Medal with three bronze service stars.
Frank is survived by his devoted wife of 55 years, Audrey A. Geisbrecht Kozak, and loving children, his son Terry M. Kozak, and his daughter Rebecca F. Barclay and her husband Dale Barclay and their family. Franciswas the son of the late John and Antoinette Steafinick Kozak of Lilly, Pennsylvania.
Having grown up in a large immigrant family on a farm in the coal mining regions of Pennsylvania during the depression era, Frank had work in the mines. After learning carpentry he started what became a successful building business for many years to come. He also had a fire alarm business, plumbing and electric business, as well as worked for Dickinson College. He spent many wonderful years retired, enjoying time in Florida, boating and fishing, gardening, hunting, tools, and cars. There is nothing he couldn't fix. Frankwas a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle.
Private services will be held at St. Patrick Catholic Church, Carlisle. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, is in charge of the arrangements.
