Obituary

Evelyn T. Brenneman, 98, a lifelong resident of Boiling Springs, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 23, 2013, in her home where she was born March 20, 1915. Evelyn was the daughter of the late George and Elsie (Hilton) Throne, and the widow of former Cumberland County Commissioner Earl L. Brenneman, who died March 16, 1996.

Evelyn graduated from Boiling Springs High School and the former Carlisle Commercial College. She retired after many years of service at the Pennsylvania State Capital and the Cumberland County Courthouse, where she was a stenographer and bookkeeper. Evelyn was a longtime member of Otterbein United Methodist Church. She enjoyed reading, crocheting and especially local history.

She is survived by several cousins.

Arrangements are being handled by Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, where a viewing will be from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM, Wednesday, May 29, 2013. Funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday at 2:00 PM, with Rev. Daniel Dennis officiating. Interment will be at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Boiling Springs. Memorial contributions may be made to Otterbein United Methodist Church, 647 Forge Rd., Carlisle, PA 17015.
