Eugene R. "Chuck" Stoner, Jr., 72, of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2023, at home.  He was born on October 27, 1950, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Eugene R. Stoner, Sr. and Joanne M. (Morrison) Stoner.

Chuck graduated from Carlisle High School in 1970 and served several years with the PA National Guard.  He was a heavy equipment operator most of his life.  He started with his father and eventually operated Eugene R. Stoner, Jr. Excavating Co., Carlisle.  Chuck also worked as a subcontractor for U. M. H. Homes and Properties and worked in many locations throughout Pennsylvania.  He was a member of the Circle Club, Carlisle, Moose Lodge 761, Carlisle and the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1299, Carlisle.

He is survived by his companion of 30 years, Sharon L. Edinger of Carlisle, one brother Edward (Susan) Stoner of Shermans Dale, one sister Trudy (Reggie) Wertz of Dillsburg and several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews.  He was preceded in death by one brother Dale "PeeWee" Stoner.

A viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. on Monday, April 17, 2023, in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle, burial will follow at Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery.  Visit www.Since1853.com to send condolences.
