Esther N. Sheaffer Knisely, 72, of Carlisle went home to be with her Heavenly Father on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at Cumberland Crossings Nursing Home, Carlisle and where she was affectionately known as "Queen Esther" by one of the aids.

She was born on December 31, 1945 in Carlisle and was the daughter of the late Joseph E. and Goldie A. (Zarker) Sheaffer. She was the widow of Luther J. "Jim" Knisely who died on Dec. 16, 2006. Esther was a homemaker and is survived by extended family members.

A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, September 6, 2018 followed by funeral services at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Chaplain Judy Strayer officiating. Burial will be in LeTort Cemetery, Carlisle. Since1853.com.
