Emma Jane Bockey, 97, of Carlisle, died Friday, December 24, 2010 at Carlisle Regional Medical Center. She was born on Saturday, January 11, 1913, in Middlesex Township, Cumberland County, a daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Kitner) Karns.

Emma had worked for many years as a crystal tester for the former Piezo Crystal Co. in Carlisle.

She is survived by her son, John R. Bockey of Calhan, Colorado, a grandson, Christopher Bockey (and his wife, Sara) of Phoenix, AZ and several nieces and nephews including, Dorothy "Dot" Lamason of Carlisle. Emma was preceded in death by six sisters; Laura Hurley, Edna Ziegler, Janet Karns, Lena Shearer, Eletha Wetzel and Marguerite Karns.

Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, December 30, 2010 in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Tim Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in LeTort Cemetery, Middlesex Twp. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services.
