Elizabeth Ann Hamil, 90, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, August 14, 2026, at UPMC Carlisle. She was born on June 3, 1936, in Boonsboro, MD and was the daughter of the late John Petre Nicodemus and Annie Elizabeth (Routzhan) Nicodemus. She was the widow of William C. Hamil, who passed away on August 31, 2022.

She graduated from Boonsboro High School and earned her degree in nursing from Washington County Hospital School of Nursing in Hagerstown, MD. Elizabeth first worked as Registered Nursed at Forest Park Health Center, Carlisle, she then worked for Dr. Rodney Hough and retired after working for Dr. William Phelan, both of Carlisle. She was a member of St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, Carlisle and was a former member of American Business Womens’ Association, Carlisle. She and her husband loved antiquing and operated a booth at Northgate Antiques in Carlisle. Most of all Elizabeth enjoyed family times around the holidays, doing arts and crafts and playing cards.

She is survived by one son Craig Hamil of Carlisle, one daughter Patricia Ellen Hair and her husband Jerry of Carlisle and one granddaughter Courtney Hair LaRue and her husband Michael LaRue of Carlisle. She was predeceased by two brothers, Edward and John Nicodemus.
