Obituary

Elinor "Skip" Y. Lindsey, 87, of Mechanicsburg and formerly of Carlisle, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019 at the Bridges at Bent Creek, Mechanicsburg.  She was born on February 10, 1932 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Harry E. and Fayne (Thompson) Yeingst.

She graduated from Carlisle High School in 1950.  Skip retired from Ahlstrom (formerly Eaton-Dikeman Co.) in Mt. Holly Springs after 31 years of service.  She was a member of the former Grace United Methodist Church in Carlisle, a 50 year member of the Sons of Union Veterans of Civil War Auxiliary #50 and the Cumberland-Carlisle AARP Chapter 4377.

She is survived her husband of 67 years, Charles "Pete" M. Lindsey, one daughter, Patricia "Patti" (husband Doug) Enck of Mechanicsburg, one daughter-in-law, Vonnie Lindsey of Florida, four grandchildren, Brandon Wert, Meaghan Goga, Tristan Enck and Riclon Lindsey, three great-grandchildren, two step-grandsons, one step-granddaughter and one step-great-grandchild.  She was preceded in death by one son, Richard "Rick" Lindsey who passed away in 2013.

A visitation will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, November 4, 2019 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Rev. Walt Frankenberry officiating.  Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society or to the American Heart Association.  www.Since1853.com.
