Edwin E. Hershey, Sr.

Edwin E. Hershey, Sr., 75, of Newville, passed away on Saturday, October 31, 2026, at UPMC Carlisle. He was born on April 13, 1951, in Carlisle and was a son of the late Lawrence Hershey and Dorothy (Seibert) Hershey.

Ed retired after many years of service with C. H. Masland & Sons and Lear Corporation in Carlisle. He enjoyed hunting and was the former Park Manager at Blue Mountain Heights in Newville.

He is survived by his wife of 26 years Shirley A. (Eckenrode) Hershey, three children, Lori McGill, Amanda (husband Ryan) Tilton, Edwin A. (wife Holly) Hershey and Star (husband Bob) Fuller, two sisters, Mary (husband Roger) Hurl and Nora (husband Allen) Shearer, five step-children, Joe Eckenrode, Linda Miller and boyfriend Melvin, Jimmy Miller and girlfriend Dani, Todd Miller and Joe (wife Shelly) Long III and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brothers, Lawrence Hershey and Bill Hershey and sisters, Karen Potter, Patricia McCommons and Janet Tarini.

A viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Shirley to help with funeral expenses.
