Edward L. Shearer, 66, of Carlisle, passed away at Carlisle Skilled Nursing and Rehabilitation Center on Wednesday, November 19, 2025. He was born on May 12, 1959, in Carlisle, a son of the late Richard Shearer and Carolyn (Hockenberry) Shearer Hoover.

Ed graduated in 1977 from Carlisle High School. After high school, he served in the US Marines. He was employed with various local companies, but his favorite job was driving truck across country, from which he retired.

Ed is survived by one brother Robert (wife Carol) Shearer, nephew Nicholas Shearer, niece Natalie Shearer, a half-brother Andy Shearer and two half-sisters, Heidi Ferry and Tammy Elliot. He was preceded in death by his stepfather John Hoover.
