Edward M. Heider, 67, of Carlisle, died Tuesday, January 4, 2011 at his home. He was born on September 17, 1943, in Harrisburg, and was a son of the late Harry and Pheobe J. (Phitzenberger) Heider.

Ed retired after 32 years of service with Exel Logistics, Mechanicsburg. Ed enjoyed fishing and the outdoors.

He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Pauline K. (Ford) Heider, three sons; Joseph E. Heider and Timothy J. Heider both of Carlisle and Donald E. Heider of Mt. Holly Springs, two brothers, a half-sister, five grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Viewing will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Services and burial will be at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions may be made to the Edward Heider Memorial Fund, C/O Metro Bank, 65 Ashland Ave., Carlisle, PA 17013.
