Edward L. Crudup, 89, of Carlisle, passed away on Friday, January 2, 2026, at Thornwald Home in Carlisle. He was born April 22, 1936, in Henderson, NC to the late Hezekiah Crudup Sr. and Florence (Daye) Crudup.
Ed retired with over 30 years of service at General Motors on the car assembly line. He was a member at Carlisle Church of Christ.
He is survived by his devoted wife, of 38 years, Ella R. (Pena) Crudup Oliver, four sons, Darryl Crudup of TimberLake, N.C., Mark Crudup of Waterford, MT, Rodney Crudup of San Francisco, CA, and Sean (Ama) Crudup of Brooklyn, NY, three stepsons, David Oliver Jr. of Harrisburg, Stanley Oliver of Pontiac, MI, and Vincent Oliver of Pontiac, MI, one stepdaughter Pamela (her husband Tito) Tep of Mechanicsburg, one brother William (Emma) Crudup of TimberLake, N.C. one sister Clara Robinson of Lumberton, NJ, ten grandchildren, thirteen step-grandchildren, many great grandchildren, one great great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers, Hezekiah Crudup Jr., Rivers Crudup, and Nathaniel Crudup, four sisters, Mattie Gale, Lucille Woods, Mary A. Venable and Mable Higgs.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, January 10, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in Carlisle Church of Christ, 971 Walnut Bottom Rd., Carlisle. Rusty Stark will officiate. The burial will follow in Mount Holly Springs Cemetery. www.EwingBrothers.com
