Earl D. Caufman, 87, of Mt. Holly Springs, passed away on Thursday, July 24, 2025, at home with family by his side. He was born on November 19, 1937, in Carlisle and was a son of the late John W. Caufman, Sr. and Sara (Thompson) Caufman. He was married for 49 years to Nancy J. (Hawkins) Caufman who passed away on April 12, 2008.
Earl attended Carlisle High School. He enlisted in the U. S. Navy in 1954 and was honorably discharged in 1958 as a Seaman Third Class. He retired from the Ralston Purina Co. after 22 years of service and then worked part-time for Carter's Concessions at the Carlisle Fairgrounds. Earl attended the Huntsdale Church of the Brethren, Carlisle. He was a life member of the Carlisle Club and member of Carlisle Eagles.
He is survived by two daughters, Debra Caufman Grimes of Carlisle and Peggy Caufman Hancock with whom he lived, twin sons, Teddy Caufman of Carlisle and Timmy (wife Peggy) Caufman of Mt. Holly Springs, five sisters, Linda Jumper, Madelyn Hill, Gaylea Kelly, Nancy Roof and Susan Morda, one brother David Caufman, 8 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Earl was preceded in death by one sister Mary Ann Martin, two brothers, Ronald Caufman and John Caufman, Jr., one daughter-in-law Penny L. Caufman and one grandson Tony Wilson.
A viewing will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 29, 2025, followed by a funeral service at 11:00 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle with Pastor Darlene Stouffer officiating. The burial will be at Mt. Holly Springs Cemetery with military honors by Cumberland County Honor Guard.
