Dorothy R. Myers, 93, of Carlisle, died on Wednesday, March 27, 2019 at her son's home.  She was born on April 3, 1925 in Carlisle and was a daughter of the late Howard T. and Sarah (Barrick) Raffensberger.  She was the widow of Glenn S. Myers who died on June 15, 1995.

Dorothy graduated from Boiling Springs High School with the Class of 1944.  She was a cook for the Crestview Elementary School and retired in 1990 from the former F. W. Woolworth's Co. in downtown Carlisle and at the former MJ Mall after 17 years of service.    Dorothy also enjoyed making crafts and she and her daughter operated a craft business for many years.  Dorothy was known for her cookie baking at Christmas time.

She is survived by two sons; Dale R. (wife, Sandy) Myers and Wayne E. (companion, Janet Wertz) Myers and one daughter, Donna K. Hurley all of Carlisle, 6 grandchildren; Christopher Hurley, Phillip Myers, Matthew Myers, Hannah Gearhart, Gregory W. Myers and Jennifer L. Jacoby, 12 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandson and several nieces and nephews.  Dorothy was preceded in death by one grandson, Dennis E. Hurley, Jr.

A viewing will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, 2019 followed by funeral services at 2:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, Carlisle.  Memorial contributions may be made to the West Pennsboro Twp.
