Dorothy M. Featherlin, age 78, of Carlisle, Pennsylvania, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 15, 2024, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones. Born on August 30, 1946, in Lewistown, Missouri, she was the daughter of the late Virgil W. Bringer and Juanita (Moore) Bringer. Dorothy was preceded in death by her stepmother, Christine (Bohawn) Bringer.

Dorothy, known to many as "Dottie," was a graduate of Lewis County High School in Lewistown, Missouri, Class of 1964. Throughout her life, she was a devoted wife, mother, and a tireless supporter of her family. In addition to maintaining a loving home, Dorothy worked diligently both inside and outside the house. For seven years, she served as a customer service supervisor at the Carlisle Barracks Post Exchange, earning the respect and admiration of her colleagues for her strong work ethic and commitment to excellence. She later joined her husband, Wendell "Bud" Featherlin, on the road as an independent truck driver, supporting the family business and sharing in his adventurous spirit. Her dedication to her family was evident in everything she did, always balancing her professional commitments with her personal role as a guiding force for her loved ones.

Dorothy is survived by her husband of 59 years, Wendell D. "Bud" Featherlin; her two sons, Allen Dean Featherlin of Rosebud, South Dakota, and John William Featherlin of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; her sister, Evelyn Anne Brink of Quincy, Illinois; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, with another on the way; and several nieces and nephews.
