Doris L. (Miller) Spahr, 89, of Newville, passed away on Friday, March 22, 2019 at home.  She was born on September 13, 1929 in Newville and was the daughter of the late Robert H. and Hazel S. (Seavers) Miller.

Doris graduated from Carlisle High School in 1947 and graduated from the former Carlisle Commercial College.  She was a homemaker and a member of the Centerville Lutheran Church where she was a part of the Busy Worker Class and the Lunch Bunch.  Doris enjoyed gardening, canning and baking for the church and Penn Twp. Fire Co.  She was also a member of the South Mountain Rangers Riding Club.

She is survived by her devoted husband of 68 years, Robert L. Spahr, one son, Kirby L. (Jennie) Spahr of Newville, one daughter, Jodi L. Spahr of Mechanicsburg, two granddaughters; Lindsey Gibson and Alanna Spahr Rock, two great-grandsons; Ewan and Rowan Rock, two nieces; Sandra Miller Deihl and Patricia Miller Snyder.  Doris was preceded in death by one brother, Dale Miller.

A viewing will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 28, 2019 followed by funeral services at 1:30 p.m. in the Centerville Lutheran Church, 1874 Walnut Bottom Rd, Newville, PA 17241 with Vicar Andrew Wagner.  Burial will be in the church cemetery.  Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle is handling the arrangements.  Memorial contributions may be made to her church.  www.Since1853.com.
