Doris I. Hofer, 81, passed away on Friday, August 28, at the Church of God Home where she was a resident for the past 9 months. She was born in Marsteller, and is preceded in death by her husband, Fred J. Hofer. She is survived by her sisters, Joann Pahys (Nick), and Susan Kitterington (Ed), both of OH, her son, Christopher J. Hofer (Lynn), Carlisle, two grandsons; Jason Hofer (Brittany) of Cleveland, OH, and Jeremy M. Hofer of Kannapolis, NC, step-grandchildren; Steven (Heather), Brian, & Susan Cantalupi, great-grandchildren; Ethan J. Hofer, Emma M. Hofer, Lila G. Hofer, step great-grandchildren; Avery, Charlotte, & Harper Cantalupi. Doris was active with the Salvation Army Senior Action Center, Carlisle. She loved to play board games, Wii bowling, bingo, and cards. She will be missed by her family and friends. Private services will be held at McDowell Cemetery, Alverda. Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, Carlisle, handled the arrangements.
