Don retired after 43 years of service with Knouse Foods in Peach Glenn. He enjoyed going to the local races and was a NASCAR and San Francisco 49'ers fan. Don also enjoyed going to the Farmers Market Restaurant and the Fairground Diner, both of Carlisle.

He is survived by one brother, Christian L. McCalister, Jr. of Carlisle, one sister, Ruth A. McCalister of Shermans Dale and many nieces and nephews including, Douglas R. McCalister of Shermans Dale. Don was predeceased by brothers; Paul, Charles and John McCalister and sisters; Esther Donnelly, Emma Esslinger, Mary Negley, Minne Cameron and Betty Paulus.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at 10:30 a.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S. Hanover St., Carlisle. Burial will be in Young's United Methodist Church Cemetery, Shermans Dale. A viewing will be on Tuesday from 6 - 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
