Donald A. "Doc" Maurice, 66, of Saltsburg and formerly of Carlisle, peacefully passed away at his home on Wednesday, August 7, 2024.  He was born on July 9, 1958, in Carlisle and is a son of John C. Maurice of Carlisle and the late Shirley A. (Keckler) Maurice.  Doc was married to the late Donna (Wolf) Maurice who passed away on June 19, 2015.

He was a 1976 graduate of Carlisle High School.  He retired from the New Cumberland Army Depot after 17 years of service where he was a manager in the shipping and receiving department.  Doc also worked as a service manager for the Freysinger Hyundai dealership in Mechanicsburg for many years.  Doc was a dedicated softball coach in Carlisle for many years and was involved with the Carlisle Diamonds and later, Carlisle High School softball programs. In his retirement he enjoyed traveling, being with his grandsons, kayaking, playing softball and spending time with lifelong friends.

He is survived by two daughters, Chelsea (husband Joel) Holmes of Pittsburgh and Maggie (husband Pike) Hall, IV of Quincy, IL, one brother John Maurice of Iron Station, NC, two sisters, Jacquie Gensel of Gladstone, VA and Laurie Turner of Carlisle, three grandsons, Pike Hall V, Eli Holmes and Abel Holmes and several nieces and nephews.

A viewing will begin at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2024, followed by a funeral service at 3:00 p.m. in the Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 S.
