Donald P. Kime, 70, of Carlisle, Pa., passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, November 15, 2023, at Carlisle Hospital.  He was born on October 30, 1953, in Carlisle and was the youngest son of the late Harry B. Kime and Evelyn Armitt Kime.

Don was a 1971 graduate of Carlisle High School.  He earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from Shippensburg University.  He retired from the Alzheimer's Association of Central Pennsylvania, where he was director of human resources.  Don previously held the same position at Wilson College and was Vice President of TV Host.  He was a lifelong member of St. John's Episcopal Church, Carlisle.  For forty-nine years, Don was a member of the Carlisle Elks Lodge #578.  He loved spending time with family, especially attending his grandkids' events.  He enjoyed vacationing with his family and traveling the world with Karen. Don treasured his friendships, and he always valued the community he found in the Carlisle High School Class of 1971.  He had a passion for golf, and he spent many afternoons rooting for the Eagles.

He is survived by his partner and love of his life, Karen Westphal of Carlisle; his daughter, Crystal Mahoney-Eby and her husband Ryan Eby of Mt. Holly Springs; one brother, Rick Kime and wife Janet of Carlisle, two sisters, Nancy Kim of Valatie, New York, and Winifred Swiss and husband Steve of Mendham, New Jersey; six grandchildren, Ryan Mahoney, Austin Mahoney, Oliver Eby, Taya Eby, Haylie Kime, and Leah Kime; two stepchildren, Sarah Glenn and David Glenn; and seven nieces and nephews. Don was preceded in death by his son, Joel Kime.

Visitation will be held at 2 pm on Thursday, November 30, at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home, 630 South Hanover Street, Carlisle, with a memorial service to be held at the same location at 3 pm.  Following the service, a time of fellowship will be held at the Carlisle Elks Lodge at 120 West Ridge Street, Carlisle.  Flowers may be sent to Ewing Brothers Funeral Home for the services on November 30.  If preferred, memorial contributions may be made to a trust benefiting Don's grandchildren at Edward Jones, 25 State Ave. Suite 3, Carlisle, PA  17013.

To quote Don's favorite song, "HeyJude, don't make it bad; Take a sad song and make it better."
