Donald "Don" Ingham Jones, 94 passed away August 28, 2023, at UPMC Carlisle in Carlisle, PA.

Don was born on May 26, 1929, to Harold Jones and Jean Louise Jones (Ingham) in Harrisburg, PA.

Don graduated from Lemoyne High School in 1947. After High School, he joined the Air Force where he served for 9 years as a radar and radio repairman during the Korean War. He returned home to attend Bucknell College. There Don met the love of his life, Barbara, on a blind date in April 1959. They married in November 1959 and later had 3 children. The couple lived in various places depending on where his job took them. They made their final move to Carlisle, PA in 1969 and raised their family there.

Don retired from Fleet Materials Support Office at the Naval Support Activity Mechanicsburg in 1990 where he was a computer programmer/analyst. His coworkers admired him for his hard work and quirky sense of humor.

Don was an avid shooter and amateur photographer. Don was a member of Carlisle Gun Club where he served in various leadership roles for over 50 years. After his retirement he and Barb enjoyed traveling and spending time with their grandchildren. Don was a part of the Cumberland County Honor Guard since 1998. In his spare time, he could be found tinkering in his garage, reading in his favorite blue chair, or telling silly jokes to anyone who would listen.

He is survived by sons Stanley Jones, Newport, PA; Andrew Jones, Carlisle, PA; daughter, Jennifer Wertz, wife of Barry Wertz, Martinsburg, WV; six grandchildren Jennifer, FL; Cynthia, FL; Stanley, KS; Brian, PA; Dale, WV; Russell, PA: one great grandson, James, FL; his brother-in-law Stanley Ritter, NY, one niece, Katherine Hahn, and two nephews, James Hahn and George Ritter.

He was predeceased by his parents, one granddaughter, Haley Jones, GA, and his wife, Barbara Jones.

A time of remembrance will be held at Ewing Brothers Funeral Home in Carlisle, PA on Friday, September 15 at 1:00 PM, with a visitation at 12:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Cumberland County Honor Guard or Disabled American Veterans.
